Conner Washington made his Great Britain Senior debut in Manchester this week in a 84-47 victory over Cyprus in EuroBasket 2021 Pre-Qualifiers.

The Loughborough College Graduate finished with 9 points, on 3/4 shooting, 3 rebounds and 3 assists with no turnovers in 14 minutes of play in his first action as a Senior Great Britain player.

Washington was pleased with the game following his first call up for the seniors.

“I really enjoyed the game. The team have been very welcoming, they all know the system and are familiar with each other so I have been a new edition.

Practice has been focused on beating Cyprus and so I felt we had the right mindset going into the game. It has been a great atmosphere to be a part of.

I enjoyed it, it was great to see people from Leicester come up and support a good win for the team.

It feels good to get my first cap under my belt, it was a proud moment.”

Great Britain will now travel to face Austria at 4pm (UK Time) on Sunday 24th February.
