The Leicester Riders take on the London Lions on Friday Evening, here’s 3 things to look out for as the two teams do battle for the second time this season.

Riders looking for back to back home wins

The Leicester Riders are looking to put together back to back victories in the BBL Championship for the first time in 2020. The Riders put together a good performance against the Worcester Wolves a fortnight ago defeating the Wolves 91-87 in front of a packed crowd at the Morningside Arena. The Riders face a tough test on Friday night as they take on a London Lions side who are in excellent form sitting at the top of the BBL Championship table with a 7&1 record.

Jordan Spencer faces his old team

Riders new addition British Guard Jordan Spencer will take on his former club on Friday Night after spending the 2018/19 season with the London Lions. Spencer had a great year with the Lions winning the BBL Cup and Championship whilst averaging 12.3 points, 6.19 assists and 2.68 rebounds per game. Spencer will no doubt be fired up for Friday’s game and after 2 promising performances for the Riders since joining, he’s definitely one to watch on Friday Night.

Ovie Soko comes to the Morningside Arena

Great Britain and Love Island star joined the London Lions in early December and has played a key part in the Lions becoming the form team in the BBL. Prior to his time on the Island Ovie played in some of the top leagues in Europe including the Spanish ACB and the Italian Lega A. Ovie most recently played for UCAM Murcia in Spain where he averaged 10.82 points, 4.89 rebounds and 1.36 assists per game. Soko has made a fast start to life in London averaging 21.88 points, 7.62 rebounds and 1.88 assists per game, the Riders will have to slow Soko down if they are to be victorious on Friday.
