Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders forward, Drew Sullivan, has been named in the BBL Team of the Week for a second consecutive week, following an outstanding performance against Manchester Giants last Saturday evening.
The Great Britain international put up 25 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in the 84-59 win over Manchester, which took the team into the top position in the BBL Championship – solidified by a win over Cheshire Phoenix on the road the following evening.
The win against Manchester Giants sealed an incredible calendar year unbeaten on the home floor for the Riders, with Head Coach Rob Paternostro full of praise for Sullivan following the win on Saturday night.
“He played 29 minutes tonight, he had 25 points and he hit a couple of them when we were struggling – and that’s what he does,” said Paternostro.
“He reads the game so well and he’s the best player in the league; nothing more to say for me. I don’t even think there’s an argument. I think that, if you were going to have a draft and you had the first pick, I know who I would pick.”
There is also recognition for Riders big-man Pavol Losonsky (left) in the select team, with his 24 points inspiring Leicester to a 60-69 win over Cheshire Phoenix on Sunday night. Losonsky was named on the BBL Team of the Week bench.
