American Point Guard Brandon Clark re joined the Leicester Riders in February after a season ending injury cut fellow American Deandre Burnett’s season short. Clark returned to the Riders after playing in France last season for ALS Basket.
Clark is a well rounded guard who possesses the ability to both run the team, setting up his teammates and controlling the tempo of Coach Rob Paternostro’s offence whilst also being able to score the ball in bunches and take over late in games. Brandon has a quick first step which enables him to beat his defender whilst the defence also having to respect his jumpshot as he shot a respectable 35% from behind the arc this season.

Stat Line: 17 Points (8-14 FG), 3 Rebounds, 7 Assists
After coming off the bench Clark got going with a tricky scoop layup inside 2 minutes into the second quarter. A sweet dish to Pierre Hampton for a 3-ball followed by 2 long 2s of his own stretched the Riders lead out to 12 heading into the half time break.
The Scorchers came out on fire in the second half and got their noses in front with a 2 point lead mid way through the third quarter, however a Clark floater steadied the ship as the Riders made a run of their own to regain the lead. Another trademark floater from Clark gave the Riders a 5 point lead heading into the final quarter before a third running layup early in the fourth quarter got the Riders going early in the Final period.
The Scorchers battled hard in the fin-al quarter but the Riders led by Point Guard Clark kept the Scorchers at arms length to get a 80-84 win.

Stat Line: 25 Points (8-16 FG), 3 Rebounds, 5 Assists
Building on his stellar performance against the Scorchers in their previous game Clark posted his season high 25 points in a tough loss to the Phoenix. In a game where the Riders struggled offensively Clark flourished scoring at ease throughout.
Clark got going early after coming off the bench to knock down 2 early 3s followed by a smooth left handed layup. The Riders continued to struggle offensively in the second half but Clark shone knocking down 2 more 3s and getting to the line 3 times on drives to the basket. Brandon also had 5 assists to go with his 25 points as he found his teammates with sweet passes for a score once drawing the defence.
March 31st2019V Glasgow Rocks – BBL Championship
Stat Line: 18 Points (6-13 FG), 2 Rebound, 4 Assists
Brandon Clark had yet another great performance in March as the Riders fell unfortunately to the Rocks on the Road. After a slow start to the game Coach Paternostro inserted Clark into the game and he had an instant impact. A pick and roll with Tim Willams saw Clark get his first assist of the game before a steal and layup on the break got the scoreboard ticking once.
Clark and Williams combined once more in the second quarter as they led the Riders went into the second half only down 6. In the second half the Rocks pulled away despite a barrage of buckets from Clark as he aimed to pull the Riders back into the game but unfortunately it wasn’t enough as the Riders fell on the road by 12.
