Leicester Riders Women took victory over the visiting Caledonia Pride at Loughborough University.

Leicester Riders were led by third year guard Dee Hayward’s 18 points whilst front court Great Britain duo Jamila Thompson and Mollie Campbell poured in 16 and 14 points respectively.

Head Coach Krumesh Patel was pleased with the team’s progress from game one and is looking forward to further improvements.

“It was always going to be a interesting game today with the way Caledonia have started the season. We got off to a positive start  but credit to their adjustments which slowed us down a bit.

“I was really impressed with our character in the second half and squad as they found a second gear, limited turnovers and saw the game out with everyone contributing.”
