Leicester Riders duo Robyn Lewis and Georgia Elliott-King have been named to the Great Britain Under 20 team ahead of European Championships.
Robyn Lewis will make her debut for the Great Britain U20s team following a disappointing injury last season that ruled her out of the competition.
“I am both excited and proud to be given this opportunity. After last years injury disappointment it means even more to me to have a GB jersey on and be representing my country at such a high level.
I can’t wait to get on court in Montenegro. The team have really come together as a group and I’m excited to see what we can do.”
Georgia Elliott-King will also make sure debut for the squad following a positive season with the Leicester Riders in the WBBL as well as success at school level with Charnwood College.
“I’m really pleased to have the opportunity to represent my country at the European Championships. I am also so proud to do it alongside one of my Riders teammates in Robyn Lewis. Can’t wait to get there and have a really positive tournament”
Riders Women’s Head Coach Matthew Harber is pleased to see the two players named in the squad.
“I’m so happy for Robyn and Georgia on making the Final 12 for the U20 squad. These two young players have worked so hard this year and this almost seems like a timely reward for their efforts throughout last season.”
