Anthony Rowe has signed a new two-year contract with the Leicester Riders ahead of the 2014/15 season.

Rowe joined the Riders in the historic 2012/13 season, helping the team to lift the BBL Cup, BBL League and BBL Playoff trophies all in the same season and is excited to continue his time at the club moving forwards.

“I’m absolutely delighted. I am really grown to love the fans, love the city and love the team so I am really really happy to be a part of this programme. Signing for a 2 year period as well means I can make stage, set myself goals for myself and for the team  so I am very please I am going to be in a place that I happy.”

Head Coach Rob Paternostro is excited to have Anthony back in the roster for next season after what he added to the team.

“Anthony has been a valuable member of our club both on and off the floor. His season ended prematurely but he still made a major impact for us, he is a leader and a great personality to have in the locker room.”

“He is a talented front court player who has been very successful throughout his career” Coach Rob Paternostro

“He is a talented front court player who has been very successful throughout his career and can provide us with solid play on both ends of the floor.”

Anthony is currently based at Loughborough University as he continues to rehab following knee surgery earlier in the year and is pleased with the progress that is being made.

“Rehab is going really well, it is a long process but when I think back to even two or three weeks ago I have come a long way. I am now able to do pretty much everything in the weight room now and am on the treadmill too so everything is moving in the right direction. I just have to do what I can to make the process move smoothly and at the back of my mind that September deadline is always present.”

Coach Paternostro continued to comment on Rowe’s recovery following surgery.

“He has been working extremely hard, and continues to make progress and we are looking forward to seeing him back in action.”

Anthony is also looking forward to exciting roster developments as they come.

“We really trust Coach Paternostro to bring great players in for next season. He has brought in some of the best players in the league so for me I trust him to put a great team together and I am waiting just like a fan to see who will be joining us next season.”
