The Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders have kick-started their summer signing period by securing the return of 6’6 forward, Jamell Anderson.
Anderson’s return to the Riders was agreed in principle at the beginning of the 2011 season in conjunction with his Loughborough University commitments.
During the 2011 season, Anderson’s play improved significantly as he became more confident as much with his new team-mates as he was with his own abilities. His important play towards the end of the season saw him register crucial fourth quarter minutes en-route to winning the Leicester Riders award for Most Improved Player.
Anderson’s return to the Riders is welcome news as much for the player, as it is for the club:
“It’s a great environment surrounded and run by great people,” said a delighted Anderson referring to the Leicester Riders. “This coming season is going to be huge not only for the club but for me. I’m currently away from the UK but I’m training like the season starts next week!
“Rob told me not to over do with the training, so I’ve been mindful to rest and eat well but my mind is set to ‘grind’ right now.
“I want to give the Riders all I’ve got and more this coming season. MIP for the second year!?”
