Leicester Riders opened preseason games this weekend in front of a sold-out crowd at Loughborough University totalling over 2500 people across the weekend.

Riders took big wins over the USA Select Blue and Red travelling teams by over 30 points each night thanks to top performances from new signings Tyler Bernardini and Neil Watson as well as returning big man Rashad Hassan.

The fans were treated to a high octane style of basketball as the Riders new back-court dominated the games, showing fans there is a lot more to come this season.

Managing Director Russell Levenston was pleased to see big crowds in the new style venue and is excited to see what the season will hold at Loughborough University.

“It was great to see so many new faces in the stands for a pre-season game this weekend. We could not ask for a better start to the season as a club, with two great wins over our visitors from the US in front os sold out crowds. This season marks the seventh year we have hosted the USA Select’s teams and the games are always a good show for the fans.”

“We now look ahead to an exciting weekend hosting Rio Natura Monbus and Okapi Aalstar which will be a very tough test for us as team but will no doubt be some really high-level basketball for our fans.”
