Leicester Riders moved to 2-0 in BBL Cup competition with victory on the road in Cheshire over the Phoenix.

Riders edged ahead early in the game to take a narrow lead into the half but the third quarter saw the Riders stomp their authority on the game, creating turnovers and easy scores whilst building on the defence presence the team have been known for in recent years.

Cheshire were able to re-group with Louis Sayers draining back-to-back-to-back threes to cut into the Riders lead but not draw within single digits as the team claimed victory for the first time this season.

Josh Ward-Hibbert led the Riders once more, this time totaling 16 points and 12 rebounds in the victory on the road. Whilst Namon Wright backed up with 14 points to go along with 8 rebounds.

Hear from Coach Paternostro following the game on the road.

Next at home the Riders will take on the Newcastle Eagles after travelling to Manchester this weekend in the BBL Cup.
