Leicester Riders will begin a manic schedule of games next week beginning in London at the Allstars Basketball Championships before the start of the FIBA Europe Cup and British Basketball League regular seasons.

The Riders will face BBL opposition for the first time this season at the Copper Box on London’s Olympic Park on October 14th as the games get faster and the rules change to bring a heap of excitement to the fast paced event.

Riders missed out on a spot in the final at last year’s event that saw the London Lions be crowned Champions on at the O2 Arena and will be gunning to defend their title on their home floor at the Copper Box Arena.

The Riders will quickly shift attention to European matters as either Dinamo Sassari or Benfica BC will come to the Morningside Arena to begin the FIBA Europe Cup season with a bang, both teams will be a tough test for the Riders opening season in overseas play. The FIBA Europe Cup Group phase will span the following 6 weeks with a total of three home and three away games in the competition.

After beginning European play the Riders will finally see domestic action as the London Royals will come to town. The new boys of the BBL made some noise in their opening three games, before falling heavily on the road to the Newcastle Eagles. Both teams will be looking to get their season on track as the ball is tipped at the Morningside Arena.
