Leicester Riders have added Tim Williams to the roster as the team approach the mid-point of the BBL season and Wayne Martin concludes short term contract and TrayVonn Wright is released from contract.
American Tim Williams joins the Riders team this week ahead of BBL action in Sheffield on Friday night and back at home on Saturday at the Morningside Arena (TICKETS on sale)
Williams averaged 17.4 points & 7.2 rebounds in his senior year at New Mexico before heading to the Portsmouth Invitational where he continued double-digit scoring alongside NBA/G-League level talent before heading overseas to Finland to play in the Korisliiga for Joensunn Kataja alongside Europe Cup action last season.
With Kataja and then KTP Basket, Williams produced consistent scoring to finish the year in Finland averaging over 15 points per game and over six rebounds per game.
Head Coach Rob Paternostro is looking forward to seeing Williams in action.
“Tim is a talented player. He had a great college career and last season in Finland he had a really solid season in a good league. When we had the opportunity to get him, we took that as we feel he is a talented intelligent player that can do a lot of things on the basketball court.
We look forward to getting him acclimated with the group as the season continues.”
The roster move comes as Wayne Martin concludes his contacts with the club as well as TrayVonn Wright being released by the Riders.
