Leicester Riders have signed Spanish guard Rebeca Navarro form Robert Morris University ahead of the start of the fourth WBBL Season.
Rebeca Navarro joins the Leicester Riders following four seasons at Robert Morris University following time with Gran Canaria in Spanish LFB.
Navarro apareagaed 8.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in her final season with Robert Morris University.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity that Leicester Riders is giving to me,” opened Navarro. “It is my first professional contract and I will not take it for granted.”
“I am exited for this upcoming season and I can’t wait to get there and start getting to know the team, the fans and the city.
“I am sure that we are going to have a great season, I followed the team last season through their Youtube channel. I believe that under the lead of the new coach Krumesh [Patel], we will follow the same path and we will try to accomplish all of the goals for the team and the fans.”
Head Coach Krumesh Patel was pleased to see Navarro join the programme as pre-season approaches at the start of September.
“We are excited to have Rebecca join us, she had a good career at Robert Morris so we are pleased to see her experience to us. She is a exciting player with strong all around ability and good knowledge of the game. we glad to have her on board for the upcoming season.”
