Leicester Riders are set to take their talents to Bristol, to face the Flyers at the WISE Arena this Friday night. With both teams coming off wins in their previous games, it’s set up for a fixating match with the Riders looking to keep pace with the Newcastle Eagles.

The team itself hasn’t played for almost a fortnight now and will be looking to make sure their midseason break, will put them in good stead for the remainder of the season.

They will also be hoping that J.R hasn’t put his hands in cold water yet after he was on fire against the Worcester Wolves. Where he went for 28 points on an ultra-efficient 84% from the field, torching the Wolves in a blowout win for the Riders in their last away game.

Riders Forward Andy Tomson believes the team are raring to go after an extending break as he eyes his 200th game in the BBL: “Practice has been good this week and with last weekend off, we can’t wait to get back out there with the busy schedule coming up”.

“So it’s important for us to take them out of the game early.” – Thomson on Flyers

Bristol Flyers are one of the best rebounding teams in the country, especially with the frontcourt duo of Mike Vigor and Danielle Edozie on the boards. The Riders will have to be at their very best to keep second-chance points to a premium.

Thomson believes taking the crowd out of the game will be vital to get the win the team needs: “It’s a tough place to go, they pack it out every week. So it’s important for us to take them out of the game early, for us to keep on the coattails of Newcastle”.

With the Flyers putting back-to-back home defeats behind them and moving up to 5th, they will be looking to make it up to their fans this upcoming Friday. However, the Riders will have something to say, as they look to keep the pressure on Newcastle going into the busy Christmas period.
