Leicester Riders take on the Bristol Flyers for the third time in the BBL Championship this season on Saturday night at Leicester Arena at 7.30pm.

The Riders (13-2) take on the Flyers (7-7) at Leicester Arena in their final match up in the BBL Championship.

The team now has two games at home in the space of a week and will look to put their disappointment behind them, as they welcome Bristol and the Surrey Scorchers.

Riders forward Pierre Hampton has said the teams defeat last week is already in the past, as they look towards the future: “Last week was a tough loss, but you know at the end of the day we got to just bounce back and onto the next game.”

Bristol Flyers come into the game in good form winning three of their last four, despite losing last time out against the Worcester Wolves. The Flyers will look to continue that form into a playoff push, come the end of the season.

The Riders player acknowledged that by saying every game in the BBL is difficult and nobody can be taken lightly: “In Newcastle it came down to the line and you know they managed to get that win, but in this league that can happen in any game. However, we play tomorrow night and feel confident we can get that all important win.”

In the BBL the games come thick and fast and staying match sharp is of the utmost importance for a successful season. Along with Cup games, the schedule can become hectic and players can lose their motivation, as the season is to be taken as a marathon, not a sprint.

Hampton believes, however, matching training intensity to match day intensity is crucial to success: “I would say it’s important to keep the intensity up throughout the week, as for me it’s important to play hard as it transcends into the game better.”

The Riders will be hoping to get back to winning ways quickly this weekend, as the loss last week has the Eagles in the touching distance again. With the Riders at home again next weekend, they will be hoping to separate themselves from the rest once again.
