After posting a solid first WBBL season with Caledonia Pride, Claire Paxton is heading over the border and travelling South to suit up for Leicester Riders.
The Scottish forward will be looking to provide a boost to the Leicester frontcourt this year, having returned 7.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per outing during 2017-18 – also helping Pride make the 2018 WBBL Cup Final.
Paxton is someone that Leicester head coach Jesper Sundberg is looking forward to working with and helping to evolve into an even greater force ahead of her second WBBL campaign.
“I’m happy to welcome Claire to the Riders,” declared the play-caller.
“She is an interesting player at 6ft 2in in that Power Forward position. Claire will bring the mid-range shot as an elite skill set to the teams’ offence,” he added.
Paxton, who previously played in her homeland with Polonia Phoenix, has also played for Scotland at various levels.
She will join fellow new arrival Brea Elmore in not only suiting up for Riders ahead of the season.
