Head Coach Rob Paternostro is looking forward to the exciting British Canadian guard Kiefer Douse returning for his second season with the Riders following a great first year.
Douse completed his rookie professional year with three trophies for the Riders and BUCS Championship with Loughborough University where he is combining his studying with his professional playing obligations.
The 25 years old 6’3” guard poses good size at his position and shot 53% from the floor last season alongside impressive assist numbers.
“I thought Kiefer had a very good rookie season,” commented Coach Paternostro.
“He did a nice job at the point guard position, a position he hadn’t played in a while and improved every week to the point where he was very comfortable in his role at the end of the season, coming up big a lot in big games.
“Douse’s assist numbers were impressive! Averaging 3.7 assists per game in 21 minutes of play combined with his defence which I thought was excellent, it was very instrumental in all our success.
“He is very athletic and can use that to get out in the open floor to make plays. We are really looking to working with him again this season and expect big things.”
