Yesterday saw the first official Leicester Riders media day take place at the Mercure Hotel in Leicester.
The day was designed to kit out the 2013/14 roster with a range of new apparel, supplements and injury prevention equipment, along with hosting a photo shoot and press conference with the whole team.
At the beginning of the day each player was walked through their new kit which included custom Nike ID trainers, a host of Kinetica supplements as well as this seasons Spalding playing and training kit.
After the kitting out process each member of the playing and coaching staff was treated to a full length photo shoot from specialist sports portrait photograph Laura Maddox, before heading into a press conference regarding the new season.
‘Today was a great day’, commented Leicester Riders MD Russell Levenston ‘the players, staff, supporters and sponsors are all committed to taking the club forward and today is another example of how we are taking big steps towards growing the Leicester Riders brand, not just locally or nationally but globally.’
‘We would like to extend our thanks to all the sponsors who supplied kit or helped arrange, organise and run the day such as 5or6 Design and Marketing and Pukaar News‘, continued Levenston ‘we are always proud of our sponsorship partnerships and today was a great example of how we are all pulling together in the same direction.’
The Riders players also got their first look at the soon to be released monthly ‘Rebound‘ magazine and they were full of praise for the publication.
‘It’s a huge step forward for us’, said Jamell Anderson who is the cover player in this months edition.
‘It’s great to be featured on the first issue of Rebound and I know the magazine is only going to get better as the season goes on’
