Leicester Riders and the Morningside Arena have confirmed a new partnership with independent energy consultancy, The Energy Check, as official energy partners.
As part of the agreement, the South Shields based business will help the Riders and the arena staff to manage energy consumption and identify energy saving opportunities at the Morningside Arena.
Considered to be the largest and most flexible venue in Leicester and regularly utilised for conferences, exhibitions, music gigs and comedy nights, the home of the Leicester Riders is now set to become an even more energy efficient and environmentally conscious centre for events.

“The Energy Check have worked proactively with us to ensure our overall environmental impact is minimised and we can maximise our investment in our sporting assets.”
Corporate Partnership Manager for The Energy Check, Charlie Wheatley, said: “We are very happy to be working with Leicester Riders and the Arena. The Morningside Arena is already one of the most energy efficient sports venue we have seen – featuring LED lights, solar photovoltaic panels and ground source heat pumps to name but a few features.
“With the expertise of our energy and technology team we plan to reduce the club’s costs even further by highlighting further energy saving measures and helping them to implement these changes.”
