Leicester Riders and Arriva have agreed to extend their partnership for the bus company to provide support for travel by young Riders players for the 2019/20 season for the reigning BBL Playoff Champions.
The Riders has a player pathway programme recognized to be amongst the best in the UK. Their Under 19 teams based at Charnwood College are national champions for boys and girls.
Ian Davis, Business to Business Manager at Arriva, was delighted to extend their support to the Riders:
“Riders are a club invested in the community and provide great opportunities for young people to achieve their sporting ambitions while achieving academic qualifications. Helping young people at clubs like the Riders to achieve their potential is part of the mission of Arriva, and we are pleased to have the opportunity to continue to work with Riders to provide these essential services.”
Riders Chairman Kevin Routledge was pleased to continue working with Arriva:
“Basketball is very popular in some of our most disadvantaged communities, and we want to do all we can to support young players to reach their potential, and be the best they can. This support from Arriva will help make it easier for our young players and their families to cope with travel costs. It has been great to work with Arriva in recent years and we are delighted this will continue.”
