It is with great sadness that the Leicester Riders note the death today of Kate Crane, the popular and respected former General Manager of the Club.
Kate died today, 25th July 2013, at the age of 55 years old, from cancer near her home in Murcia, Spain. She had been suffering from cancer for some time, but was taken back in hospital in Spain in the last few days.
Kate was instrumental in transitioning the Club following the closure of Granby Halls, until moving to Spain nearly 10 years ago.
Kate is survived by her daughter Francesca and husband Nigel, as well as her extended family in Leicester.
The Riders will honour Kate’s memory at the first home game of the new regular season, on Saturday 28th September.
