Great Britain Point Guard, Georgia Jones, will make a return to the Riders for the 2015-16 season.
This will be Jones’ third year suiting up for the Riders, after joining the club in 2013. Jones was instrumental in the Championship success of the 2013/14 season, where the team took the EBL Division One Playoff Championship, as well as becoming a BUCS Champion with Loughborough this past season.
Last season, Jones averaged, 11.3 points, 4.3 assists (second in WBBL), and 1.7 steals per game for the Riders, and was named in the Molten WBBL All-British Team.
Head Coach Matthew Harber, is delighted to have Jones return for another season:
“Having worked with Georgia for the last two years, I have a great deal of respect for her, her game, and the contributions she has made to our programme throughout the last two seasons.
I’m really happy we will retain her services for 2015-16 and she will undoubtedly provide a level of stability in what will be a very new, fresh-faced roster.”
Jones is due to graduate in September after completing her Masters in Sports Management at Loughborough University and is looking forward to taking the floor with the rest of the Riders team next season.
Come and support the Riders as they take the floor on the 17th and 18th of October for their double header, opening weekend, at Loughborough.
