Great Britain guard Jay-Ann Bravo-Harriett is returning to home soil after playing overseas in college at Toledo and professionally in Spain.
Bravo-Harriott previously represented Great Britain at EuroBasket in 2015 and formed an impressive collegiate career at Toledo, before making the move to Spain, helping Toledo to the MAC title in 2017 & averaging 11.4 points per game over 127 appearances in her college career.
“I’m excited to be playing back in the UK again. I went overseas for the last five years and I really missed my family and friends here. Now, I’ll be playing only a couple of hours from home and for a great team.”
Bravo-Harriott will be combing playing with studying at Loughborough’s School of Business and Economics for the upcoming season and competing in BUCS play for the Loughborough Women’s team under Coach Sundberg.
“It’s such a win win signing. I’ll be playing for one of the best teams in the UK and attending one of the best universities academically and sport-related. I’m excited for this opportunity.
Since leaving the country the WBBL has formed and thrived ahead of the season.
“WBBL is still quite new to me,” commented the Riders latest signing. “I’ve heard about it, read a few articles here and there, but I’m happy that there’s a platform for women to play at a high level in the UK.
I look forward to be part of the league.”
Leicester Riders open the season tomorrow on the road in Essex taking on the Oaklands Wolves in the WBBL opening weekend. Be sure to follow @RidersWomen and @WBBLOfficial for updates throughout the weekend.
