Jamell Anderson has signed to return to the Leicester Riders following playing overseas in Spain last season.
Anderson played five seasons with the Leicester Riders from 2011 until leaving to join the Cheshire Phoenix where he averaged 10.7 points and five rebounds per game before time in Australia last summer and Spain last season.
The Nottingham native represented England at the Commonwealth Games this summer following a positive season with La Roda in Spain.
Jamell helped the Riders to the their first league Championship in 2012 and then their first title in the Morningside Arena in 2016 as well as numerous other titles in the BBL before departing the club.
“Very excited about this coming season,” commented Anderson.
“As always I looking forward to getting out there and playing high level basketball week in and week out.
“The fans have always been no less than amazing to me and I’m looking forward to representing them and the city of Leicester in this 2018/19 season.
“The players and coaching staff are a mixture of people I’ve played against and with and I’m certain with time we will gel to be a very competitive squad.”
Anderson joins TrayVonn Wright, Pierre Hampton, J R Holder and Andy Thomson who have re-signed from last season, and Conner Washington who returns from Danish basketball, along with newcomer Niem Stevenson, joining straight out of Texas Tech University.
The Riders will be in first action against the USA Select on August 31st in at the Morningside Arena with ticket now on sale!
