Dee Hayward is set to return to the Leicester Riders for the 2018-19 Women’s British Basketball season.
Hayward, that had planned to head to the US to pursue non-basketball career opportunities had a change of heart deciding to return to court and to the Riders for a fourth season with the club.
The Scottish guard averaged an impressive 15.2 points per game during the regular season and 17.6 in Cup/Trophy play helping the Riders to their first WBBL silverware and their best ever league placing missing out on the league title with Sevenoaks on points difference.
Hayward is looking forward to getting back on the WBBL court with the Leicester Riders.
“It’s been a good learning curve over the summer. The path I thought I wanted to take wasn’t the right one for me at this time.
“I was overwhelmed by the support I received and Leicester promised to always have a home for me so I’m delighted to be back playing for them.
“I’m looking forward to making more history under a new coach, with new and returning teammates.”
