Coach Patel Named Great Britain U20 Assistant Coach

Leicester’s Krumesh Patel has been named as Assistant Coach for the Great Britain Under 20 National Team ahead of tournament action this summer.

Coach Patel lead the Riders to their best ever WBBL finish, ending up second on points difference in the league as well as claiming their first ever WBBL silverware in the Trophy and reaching their first Playoff Final at the O2 Arena.

As Head Coach of the the Charnwood College Basketball Academy, supported by David Ross Education Trust,  to multiple National Schools Championships this season and to the Final of the WEABL.

Patel commented on the recent appointment as camp is set to open up.

“I am grateful to get a opportunity to represent Great Britain one of the coaching staff. It is something I have aimed for and now it’s a exciting new chapter and a great opportunity to grow.

“I am looking forward to the challenge and hope to help the U20s group make a impact at the European Championships this summer.

Coach Patel joins the team in Camp in Manchester as they prepare for competition in Romania in July before heading to Serbia with Charnwood College Riders for the ISF World Championships and then returning to Leicester and Loughborough ahead of next season.
