The Charnwood College Riders claimed the Women’s League North Title for the first time since the programme entered National League competition four seasons ago.
Head Coach Krumesh Patel and Charnwood College Riders claimed their first Women’s NBL regular season title defeating Manchester to claim the top spot in the North league with a game to spare this weekend.
The Charnwood College Riders entered National League competition for the first time just three seasons ago as the programme continued to grow and this year the team have claimed their first league title.
The Charnwood Riders held of tough competition in Lancashire Spinners and the Manchester Mystics to claim the title ahead of the Playoffs and Head Coach Krumesh Patel could not be happier for the group.
“It’s been a great year so far! The girls have done really well to win the league showing so much growth and development over the season. It has been a pleasure to see and coach the group, with multiple players thought the season step up in different games.
“The league title has been a whole team effort. Without everyone this would not have been possible so all the girls can be proud. Now we look ahead to try to finish strong in the playoffs.”
Charnwood College Men and Women shift their focus to the elite college competition as EABL playoffs continue for the Men and WEABL playoffs begin for the Women on Wednesday as both teams hope to be a part of the Final on Wednesday 23rd March at the Leicester Sports Arena.
