Jamell Anderson led the scoring for the Riders last night in the summer exhibition game against Florida Tech but was praising the younger players following the game.
Anderson, who graduated from the Loughborough Basketball Programme last summer, was pleased to see the current students performing well on a bigger stage.
“I really enjoyed the game. It was nice to get back out onto the floor with the team, especially with some of the younger guys from the University. Overall, a lot of those guys showed they are ready to play.”
On the court, Jamell continued to show fans his versatility shooting the ball well as well as guarding their most prolific scorer.
“I’ve been working my shot again this summer and now it is time to play I have got to let it go. I’m looking forward to the season, it is only round the corner now so we have to iron out the kinks and begin to gel together to get ready for a long season.”
Anderson also commented on how nice the group were to play against and interact with throughout the competitive summer game.
“They were a great group of guys. I spoke to them throughout the game, in the pauses, on the free throw line or a dead ball they would ask where I was from so it was great to meet and player against a good group of people. They play really hard and I wish them the best of luck.”
The Riders take the floor again on the 30th August when they will face the Loughborough University.
