Leicester Riders returned to winning ways in the BBL Championship, defeating the visiting Glasgow Rocks 93-82 at the Sir David Wallace Sports Centre on Saturday evening after a big third-quarter turnaround.

Rocks entered tonight as only one of two teams to have beaten Riders this season, having won the first meeting between the sides 80-71 in Glasgow back in October.

Neither team led by more than four points in the opening period, but a 10-0 run to start the second quarter saw the visitors jump in front 32-23 after Keiron Achara scored a basket four minutes into the frame.

Having finished the first half leading 41-37, Rocks quickly pushed the margin to 14 points. However, a seven-minute 27-6 stretch by Riders saw the guests not only erase the deficit, but go up 68-61 heading into the final period.

Leicester led by double figures in the fourth quarter, but had allowed Rocks to close the gap within 80-78, before going on a game-clinching 10-1 run to wrap things up.

Neil Watson led all scorers with 25 points, while Rashad Hassan chipped in with 18 points and 11 boards for Riders. JaJuan Smith had a team-high 19 points, six rebounds and five assists in a losing effort for the Rocks
