Leicester Riders took the impressive 90-52 victory over Bristol Flyers tonight in the BBL Championship.

The Riders started well with Trevor Gruis going to work in the paint to put the home side up early on in the game. The visitors responded, executing on offence to tie the score 10-10 half way through the first. The Riders extended their defence up the floor which caused problems for the Flyers and resulted in fast break opportunities. The home side were able to convert on the break, and along with aggressive drives from Drew Sullivan, the Riders pushed their lead to 10. The Flyers continued to struggle against the Riders pressure for the remaining minutes of the first, resulting in a 30-13 lead at the end of the first.

The Riders came out firing, with Tyler Bernardini hitting from behind the arch to start the quarter, extending their lead to 20. However, despite the quiet minutes which followed for the home team, Bristol were unable to narrow the gap and it was 38-19 with 5 minutes to go in the half. Shane Walker got hot from the three, and was able to convert a 4 point play, but the Flyers continued to hit shots of their own talking the score to 47-29 at half time.

Riders began the third where they left off on the offensive end, but not until half way through the quarter were they able to stretch their lead further than 20 points. Despite sharp shooting from Bernardini and Walker, Flyers were able to produce on the offensive end to keep scoring level for the remainder of the quarter, ending in a 65-43 scoreline going into the fourth.

Point guard, Conner Washington started the fourth with a tough step back jumper and the momentum continued with the Riders. A Bernardini three took the score to 75-45, and the Riders lead to 30 with 7 minutes remaining in the game. The Riders continued to look solid from this point on, with Charnwood star and EABL Champion, Andre Arissol controlling the last 3 minutes of the game resulting in the 90-52 victory for the home side.
