Leicester Riders hosted the Durham Wildcats to complete a double-header weekend in the BBL Championship.

The Riders opened the game with a face pace, allowing high-flying TrayVonn Wright to throw down five dunks in the half whilst shooting 9-10 from the field. The Wildcats remained close with the Riders thanks to good forwards play of Joe Madourie and John Puk. Riders led by nine points at the half thanks to a huge 19 points from Wright in the first twenty minutes of the game.

The third quarter saw Watson and Hassan click into action as they both brought their points tallies to double digits and the Riders lead grew to 73-55 at the end of three. A lull in scoring meant that the Wildcats had an opportunity to get back into the game. Hot shooting from the Durham guards cut the lead all the way down to three as the game entered the final 30 seconds. Durham worked to have two opportunities to tie the game from three but could not convert and the Riders held on to win 84-81.

Riders will face the London Lions in the BBL Trophy Semi-Final on March 1st at 6pm.
