Leicester Riders took a 83-54 victory over the Bristol Flyers in the BBL to progress to 5-1 on the season.

Riders opened the game well, with point guard Neil Watson on fire early in the first quarter. Flyers settled into rhythm and began to chase the home side however the lead continued to grow

Riders continued their lead into the second half and despite a strong push from Bristol Flyers at the opening of the third quarter the defensive play from Riders was too much and the lead quickly returned to double digits.

Riders closed out the game without let up and took a 29-point victory over the visiting flyers.

Head Coach Rob Paternostro was pleased to pick up the victory and put extra emphasis on the defensive performance of his team.

“It was a good win for us, I thought defensively we played very well, we talked all week about how we wanted to produce an excellent defensive performance and I thought everyone who played was committed defensively from start to finish.”

Riders guard Neil Watson continued his good form to start the season finishing with 18 points and 6 assists however forward Pavol Losonsky led the scoring for the Riders in this victory with a stat-stuffing 19 points, six assists and seven rebounds.

Point guard Conner Washington provided a great spark off the bench to grab eight rebounds whilst dishing out four assists. Rashad Hassan was a great presence inside for the home side and finished with 14 points and seven rebounds.

The Riders return to action in two weeks time to take on the Leeds Force on Sunday 9th November at 6pm tip off.
