Charnwood College got back to EABL action after a long lay-off as they hosted a tough Loreto team. Charnwood came out victorious 82-77 in a hard fought game from both teams.

A back and fourth game saw 15 lead changes and 11 ties. With Charnwood leading 78-77, Andre Arrisol hit a 3 at the shot clock buzzer to give the home team a 4 point lead before Tim Fava sealed the game at the line.

“It was great for us to get back on the floor tonight against a good Loreto team.” – Merrington on EABL performance

Charnwood Head Coach Josh Merrington commented “It was great for us to get back on the floor tonight against a good Loreto team. We really didn’t play anywhere near to the level we feel we are capable of, but guys made some big plays when it counted and showed great character throughout. We’ll go through the tape and highlight some key areas to work on.”

Fava finished with 21 points on an efficient 9/10 shooting. Hafeez Abdul also contributed 21 points for the hosts. Henri Langton finished with 18, also on 9/10 from the floor. Joe Swindells was impressive for the visitors leading all scorers with 25 points.

Loreto will look to get back to winning ways as they host Myerscough 2nds in the EABL Cup next Wednesday. Charnwood have 2 weeks off before they travel to County Upper on November 5th looking to improve to 4-0 on the season.
