Loughborough Student’s Women’s Basketball has developed significantly over the past three years and is quickly becoming one of the leading programmes within women’s basketball in the UK. Having won Loughborough’s Most Improved Club and gaining promotion to EBL D1 during the 2011-12 season; the future looks bright for women’s basketball at Loughborough. The club has not only grown in its level of competition, but also in size and the number of student-athletes it can cater for.

First Team

Our elite team compete in BUCS Northern Premiership on a Wednesday and following a championship year in 2011-12, the team will enter EBL Division One for their first year competing at top-flight women’s basketball.

Second Team

Our second team compete in BUCS Midlands 2A, after narrowly missing out on promotion to Midlands 1A over the past two seasons. Additionally, the team will make its National League debut this season; competing in the EBL D2 Midlands South-West league. We are excited to offer a National League outlet to more of our players and confident we will establish ourselves at this level of competition.

Third Team

The third team compete in the Leicestershire Women’s Basketball League and offers a competitive outlet for players who are of a recreational level or for players who are aspiring to play National League.

We also offer a less competitive element to our club that caters for all abilities. Whether you just want to have fun, learn some new skills in a friendly, relaxed environment or meet some new people, recreational basketball is for you!
